A change of scenery May 14, 2009

Brianna had her last soccer game of the spring season tonight and rain is expected the next few day.  What does that add up to?  A new route to see my girls last game of the season.

I mapped  out a route which took me from home to Mike Rose Soccer in Collierville.  It was nice to have a change of scenery.  Some of the roads I had never even driven before today.  Most were back roads.  Some lined with big trees and quiet roads.  It was a little warm today, but the wind made it comfortable.  The bad part about the wind is it makes it hard to ride with it pushing you backward.  It was a good 22 mile ride, however the wind slowed my speed down to just over 12mph.  I have to remind myself, I’m not in a race, but a ride.  It’s more important for me to endure and finish than to break the speed of sound.

If anyone is interested in riding with me, please let me know.  I would love to have some company.

Saturday morning 8 am from outlet mall in Lakeland. Great group to ride with, lots of entertainment and laughs and the route is good as well. Try it out.

Thanks, Karen. That would be great, however I am having some mechanical issues. Read the post above and let me know if it is ok to ride. If so, I would love to go out tomorrow.

I don’t think we know each other. I am riding in Death Valley and stumbled across your page here and thought I would invite you out with us.

Nice to meet you. I actually spoke with Vic from Hightailers today and he told me about the ride on Saturday’s. Last weekend was supposed to be their first ride and I think he said two people showed.

I’m out this weekend, but will plan on going after that. Are you in Memphis? Are you doing the JDRF ride? Good luck!
